I have been invited to create a video music history lecture discussing several composers - the video made via my Windows 10 Camera app. Problem #1: how to momentarily replace my video image with a photo each time a composer being discussed (but with the lecture audio still sounding). Problem #2: how to also add a 2-minute audio excerpt after each composer section (music by that composer, preferably transferred directly from a Windows Media Player playlist). I have the lecture video (including 2-minute silences to accommodate the audio excerpt)s, I have the photo files, and I have the audio files - but I can't seem to combine them, despite following several online sources.
I would be infinitely grateful if someone could walk me through this two-part editing process - IF it can in fact be done via the apps already included in the Windows 10 package.

Solution
To achieve the tasks required for your video music history lecture using Windows 10 Camera app and included tools, you can follow the steps outlined below:
Replacing Video Image with a Photo
- Preparation:
- Ensure you have the photos ready for all composers you'll discuss.
- Use the Windows 10 Camera app to record the video part of your lecture.
- After recording, open the Camera app and view the recorded video.
- Pause the video at the point where you want to switch to the photo.
- Take a screenshot of the photo you want to insert using the Windows Snipping Tool or another screen capture tool.

- Open an editing program like Windows Photos or the built-in Photos app.
- Open your video file within the app.
- Use the "Insert" feature to add the photo at the paused point in your video.
Adding an Audio Excerpt
- Ensure your 2-minute audio excerpts are trimmed and saved as individual files.
- Open the Photos app on your Windows 10.
- Create a New Video project and import your video file.
- Insert the photo at the designated point as done before.
- To include the 2-minute audio excerpt, import it using the "Custom audio" option in the Photos app.
- Match the audio with the section you want it to play by aligning it in the timeline.
- Editing and Exporting:
- Trim the audio, fine-tune the video transitions, and adjust any other visual aspects.
- Once satisfied, save or export the video with audio and photo overlays.
Additional Tips:
- For more advanced editing capabilities, consider using Windows 10's built-in Video Editor, or if available, third-party video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
- Test the final product on different devices to ensure compatibility and playback quality.
