Hi all,
I just burned my 64-bit professional ISO file onto a bootable DVD and am about to install it onto my current 32-bit vista... Before I proceed, I want to make sure that when I do a clean install and erase everything on my laptop, nothing will happen to my tablet right? As in, after I performed the clean install, my tablet will retain its files necessary for the tablet/touchscreen functions to run properly right? Thanks... just want to double-check before I go ahead and delete everything!

It's crucial to ensure that the update or clean install process you're planning doesn't affect your tablet adversely. Here are a few points and precautions to consider: 1. Different Devices: - Ensure that you are installing the 64-bit version on your laptop and not on your tablet. These are two separate devices with different hardware requirements. 2. Backup Data: - Before proceeding with the clean install, make sure to back up all essential data from your laptop to an external storage device to avoid any data loss. 3. Touchscreen Drivers: - Usually, the touchscreen drivers for tablets are specific to the device and may not be affected by the laptop's clean install. Nevertheless, it's always a good idea to check for updated drivers after the installation to ensure proper functionality. 4. Separate Devices: - Your clean install on the laptop should not have any direct impact on the tablet. They are independent devices with their own operating systems and storage. 5. Verification: - Double-check that you are performing the clean install on the correct device (the laptop) to prevent any accidental data loss on your tablet. 6. Recovery Options: - Familiarize yourself with the recovery options available in case of any issues during or after the clean install. This might include recovery partitions, Windows installation media, or recovery software. By following these precautions and clarifying that the clean install is targeted at the laptop, you should be able to proceed without affecting your tablet's functionality. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask!
