ok ive been reading thru what alot of people have been doing for the blue screen and all and i havnt seen anything like what ive been having problems with. i have gotten a blue screen three seperate times while one just being on the internet, and the other two times while playing supreme commander demo(wanna see if i want to buy it lol). i understand it could be the demo but after reading what people say the error message means i didnt know how it could be from the game. its just weird bc this error seems to be with power saving and all, but i am getting it while in a game...

i dont quite know what types of problems i could be having but also i will say every now and then whether playing a game or surfing the internet the entire computer will lock up. for about 30 seconds or so then just come back to normal. whether on the internet or in a game, although the mouse is able to move.

Could the soundcard cause these types of issues bc i havnt been able to load like realtek or anything for it where i can adjust levels and all. i did load the soundmax drivers and all for it which are up to date.

i guess these three issues have just become odd and confusing lol and i hope i can get them figured out, which is why i came on here!

Hi modzey,
blue screens are usually driver related, are all yours up to date? Thats including motherboard/chipset, graphics, sound (I know you said sound was up to date) and anything else that might be relevant. Also is you bios the latest version?

Another source of blue screens can be either heat related or power (PSU not powerfull enough)...

the only drivers that i am not sure about is the bios. i havnt touched the bios at all. the graphics driver is up to date, sound is up to date, motherboard is as up to date i believe, the chipset i have not updated, however i have gone into device manager and checked everything in there and it says there are all up to date. i dont have anything else on this computer currently. Firmware i dont know about, also i dont know where to update firmware at...

as for the heat and power i have a thermaltake 600w ps with 2 12 volt rails combined to 29 amps. i have been watching the heat and the mobo runs at 41-43c at idle and 45-46c in a game. the cpu runs at 30c idle, nb is about 40-43c at idle (with the intake air at 30c).

i guess the bios, firmware, and maybe the mobo may not be up to date, i am not sure where to even see if i have the surrent firmware or mobo...

also while writing you back i had the computer lock up on me for about a minute. i went in and looked at the event viewer and had a warning...

i dont understand why raid is giving me issues. i dont even have raid enabled in the bios and i only have a single hdd...

The Event viewer log would lead me to think SATA controler possibly chipset driver. I've seen similar situations with SATA cables being bad/loose as well .I feel as though i've read about alot of blue screens on the forum involving nVidya chipsets i would look those over very closely and try to find nVidya drivers for everything that doesn't have one.

ya i updated the chipset drivers to the 15.35 drivers maybe that will help im not sure. also the bios i am running is 1801, there is a 1901 but it sounds like it doesnt change much...

Hi modzey,
thanks for the updates..
Well usually it's best to have the latest bios and the changes that a new bios brings aren't always best advertised (blame the board makers). As I'm sure your aware though, flashing the bios can kill the motherboard unless it's done correctly.
Could you list your motherboard for me and I'll do some checking....

sure thanks again for the help. i have a asus striker extreme motherboard 680i with the q6600 cpu. also i do have the graphics card and all in my profile. is that all u wanted to know about the mobo? sry i dont know if there are any other closer identifications.

Never mind it might be this that or the other....do this:

Go to this url: Crash Dumps - Analyse Bugcheck and Process - Vista Forums

Read it! do what it says!

If it is not clear what to do ask me but you must get used to using the crash dump analysis tool. It is free from Microsoft and not much is. When you load the memory dump file into it it will connect to the net and come back with an answer and will, point you where to look. BSODs are usually very simple to fix

Sorry guys the URL for crash dump info is:-

Link Removed due to 404 Error

and presumably vista 86 for 32 bit. It all works with windows 7

Thanks for that.
Yup the latest bios is 1901 (that's a hell of a motherboard you got there) and you can use the inbuilt EZ Flash utility to update your bios. More info on this can be found here (how to do it):

The above link is for your bios download.

haha thanks also i had a question regarding the heatsinks on the mosfets and all. the mobo runs alot hotter then other peoples motherboard seems to run. like right now the motherboard is at 45c with the cpu at 31c and in intake air at 30c. do you think the nb, sb or the mosfets cooler sinks could have unseated? i just wonder from your experience whether that is high or not.

thanks again for your help

ya the heatsinks run down to the sb as well as the nb and all around the cpu, i have the zalman 100mm circular fan one(the popular one...lol) u can see a pic of the passive system here. Link Removed - Invalid URL
i hope that works...

i have been comtemplating removing the cooling all together and getting the little zalman passive fan blade (47mm) off of newegg and putting the thermaltake cooling on the sb then just putting

thermaltake ii--Newegg.com - Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II CL-C0034 Copper Fan & Heatsinks - Memory & Chipset Cooling

zalman-- Newegg.com - ZALMAN ZM - NBF 47 Aluminum Heatsinks only - Memory & Chipset Cooling

mosfet coolers.-- Newegg.com - Enzotech MOS-C10 C1100 Forged Copper Heatsinks only - Memory & Chipset Cooling

although doing this would be about 50 some dollars...

well i think i am going to flash my bios, ever since upgrading the soundcard (actually got the supreme fx working happily) and the chipset the computer seems to be running much happier.

thanks again

Fingers crossed on the bios flash and please let me know how you get on.......:)

hey the flashing went good hope all stays good otherwise ill be back on here haha thanks again

My solution to the problem

I had the same crash. Normally it would crash when I watched a demanding flashvideo or movie.
My specs:
* Intel Core i5 750
* Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3
* Intel x25 G2 80GB
* GeForce 7600 GS
No overclocking.

I tried several things that people have been proposing. I installed newest drives for motherboard, realtek audio (and had only realtek audio drivers installed), updated everything, but nothing worked.
What seem to have worked for me was when I went for the voltage increase solution. I put the CPU Vcore up one pin from 1.2000V to 1.2065 or so and the RAM voltage up a pin. After that I have been stress testing the computer with all the scenarios that crashed the PC before, even several of the scenarios simultaniously and it seems to be working fine now.
Of what I understand this error 41 is rather generic and can be due to several things. If you havent tried increasing the voltages, it might be a good idea. It solved the problems for me.
