Windows 10 Why do power settings not take?

New Win10 Pro laptop power settings don't "take", no matter how high I set them. After just a couple minutes, the external monitor (an LG TV) and computer both go promptly to sleep, despite having the timer set to 45 minutes, or greater. Very annoying.

I had a similar setup using Win7 on another laptop (same TV) which gave me no problems.

Thanks!

  • Open a command prompt
  • Type powercfg /Q >> %userprofile%\Desktop\powercfg.txt
  • Upload the powercfg.txt file on your desktop for review

Based on the settings your system is set to go to sleep. When changing the settings, which power scheme are you changing? Your system is currently in balanced mode.
