Windows 7 Why two partitions ?

New Member
I have installed the Windows 7 7100 on my hard disk.
During the installation process, I choice only one partition (full hard disk capacity). After the complete installation, without problems, I boot on a CD backup software and I see two partitions.
Do you know why these two partitions and their roles please ?
Thank you for your answer.
You probably have the hidden 100 MB partition.

I thought this happened only with an upgrade.

Try going to Start > Run, and type diskmgmt.msc and see if it show up here.
