Windows 7 Why two partitions ?

Hello,
I have installed the Windows 7 7100 on my hard disk.
During the installation process, I choice only one partition (full hard disk capacity). After the complete installation, without problems, I boot on a CD backup software and I see two partitions.
Do you know why these two partitions and their roles please ?

You probably have the hidden 100 MB partition.

I thought this happened only with an upgrade.:confused:

Try going to Start > Run, and type diskmgmt.msc and see if it show up here.

I have the next partitions :
- System Reserved (system, active, main partition) 100MB
- c: (boot, swap file, main partition) 75MB
Do you explain me what is the purpose of the System Reserved partition plz ?
