Windows 7 WiFi signal is so weak, how can I boost it without replacing with a new one?

My router is three years old.Recently it provides weak signal,I had to sit around router for connection. How can I boost it without replacing with a new one? My friend recommend a software: My WIFI Router, did you use this software?

Is it all WIFI devices that have this problem or only one? If you have not tried yet reboot the router and see f that helps. If all devices and a reboot does help than not much you can do, if only one device than look to fixing that device.
