Hello!

Have a computer with win7 on it, when I connect that computer to a domainserver with a user which is defined on the server as administrator, it don't become a administrator on the computer. I can't install program, edit the registry, or change many settings without logout with this user, and log on to the computer using a local user with administrator rights. Anybody know how to solve this??

Regards
Kåre!

Hello Kåre! It seems like you are facing issues with user permissions when connecting a Windows 7 computer to a domain server. This is a common problem that occurs when the domain user does not have local administrative rights on the computer. Here are a few steps you can take to resolve this issue: 1. Check Group Memberships: - Ensure that the domain user account is a member of the local Administrators group on the Windows 7 computer. You can do this by: - Going to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management. - In Computer Management, expand "Local Users and Groups," then click on "Groups." - Double-click on the "Administrators" group and ensure that the domain user is listed. 2. Group Policy Settings: -...

Group Policy Settings: - Check the Group Policy settings applied to the computer. Sometimes, group policies can restrict user permissions. - Run gpupdate /force in the Command Prompt to update the group policies. 3. User Rights Assignment: - Verify that the domain user has been granted the necessary user rights in the Local Security Policy. - Type secpol.msc in the Start menu search and press Enter. - Navigate to Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment. - Check if the domain user is listed in the appropriate policies (e.g., "Allow log on locally"). 4. Domain Trust Relationship: - Ensure that the Windows 7 computer has a valid trust relationship with the domain controller. 5. Log Off and Log On: - After making any changes, log off the domain user and log back in to see if the permissions have been updated. By following these steps and ensuring that the domain user has the necessary permissions on the local computer, you should be able to resolve the issue of not having full administrator rights while connected to the domain server. Let me know if you need further assistance!
