  • I am using Windows 7 64bit Ultimate.
  • My laptop, when going into SLEEP, 1 out of say 7 times shuts down instead.
  • Windows says it crashed and gives me some error logs.
  • I am attaching the DMP file of the last one.
  • I remember going to PERFORMANCE INFO & TOOLS > ADVANCED and it saying that a video drive may be to blame.
  • I removed the video driver and let Windows update the driver itself.
  • Am wondering if it somehow is still using that driver??
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

I think the driver is fine, like I said, it's just what caused the crash:

rtl8192se.sys Mon Apr 26 20:23:06 2010

090810-26956-01.dmp
Probably caused by : rtl8192se.sys
A driver is causing an inconsistent power state
DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)

Hmmm ... so what would be the fix then if not the driver?? It does this about 2-3 times per week.

Edit - Deleted my post because I checked on card reader drivers and they are latest from the website already.

Cybercore is correct about the rtl8192se driver.

Please update it from this page instead:

Hello.

I am new to this forum, so I don't know much about it. All I know is that I am having a similar problem to Maurice, my computer about 99 out of 100 times Hardboots itself (I lose all data) when I try to hibernate or sleep. I would like help not too technical, like a brief non-technical explanation.

Thanks!
