Windows 7 Windiws 7 upgrade lockup and now will not continue

I was running the Windows 7 home premium 32bit upgrade on a Toshiba laptop that was running Vista Home Premium 32bit.

The upgrade process rebooted at somepoint and now it keeps rebooting to a DOS window witha command prompt on drive X.

If I try to run the install.exe off drive D (CD-ROM) it starts the process and then stops saying the installation booted of the Windows 7 installation CD please remove the CD and restart.

I cannot get past this endless loop. Nothing will boot completely.

I hate to tell you but Upgrades frequently have problems either at install or later. A clean install is always best.
