So I enter my password, PC's taking longer than usual, I hear the typical error sound. I'm suprised, my desktop wallpaper is gone, the icons on it are stacked rather than as I set them, the pinned buttons on taskbar are gone. The Start button won't respond, neither the toolbars. Then there comes this error : 'Fatal Error: Failed to execute script main'.
I have to get permission (tho I'm admin) almost everywhere; settings, a preogram, etc. whose ownership was with me originally. What has happened?? Restart won't help, nothing has helped till now.

It sounds like there might have been a system corruption or a significant error that has occurred on your Windows 10 machine, leading to multiple issues like missing icons, unresponsive start menu, ownership problems, and a fatal script error message. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and address these issues: 1. Restart in Safe Mode: - Boot your PC into Safe Mode. Safe Mode loads Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services and can help diagnose and troubleshoot various issues. 2. Run System File Checker (SFC) and DISM: - In Safe Mode, run the System File Checker utility (SFC) to scan for and restore corrupted system files. - Open Command Prompt as administrator and run: sfc /scannow -...

Run System File Checker (SFC) and DISM: - In Safe Mode, run the System File Checker utility (SFC) to scan for and restore corrupted system files. - Open Command Prompt as administrator and run: sfc /scannow - Additionally, you can try the DISM tool to repair the Windows image. - In Command Prompt, execute: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth 3. Perform a System Restore: - If you have a system restore point that precedes the issue, use it to revert back to a working state. - Search for "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar to access System Protection settings. 4. Check Hard Drive Health: - Sometimes disk errors can cause system instability. Check your hard drive for errors using tools like CHKDSK to detect and repair file system issues. 5. Recreate User Profile or New User Account: - If the current user profile is damaged, you may need to create a new user account or recreate the existing profile. - Try creating a new user account with administrative privileges and check if the issues persist. 6. Windows Repair/Reset: - As a last resort, consider repairing or resetting Windows using advanced startup options. This can help diagnose underlying issues and potentially correct them. If these steps do not resolve the problems, you might need to seek further assistance from Microsoft Support or a technical expert to diagnose and resolve the issues you are facing on your Windows 10 system.
