Here are the official highlights for Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27902 (Canary Channel) based on the Windows Insider Blog announcement:
Key Changes and Improvements
General Improvements:
This build delivers a small set of general improvements and fixes that enhance the overall experience for Insiders.
Fixes
File Explorer:
Fixed an issue where File Explorer might fail to persist view changes.
This also impacted desktop icons, which could unexpectedly move or revert to default size.
Camera App:
Fixed a bug where the Camera app could get stuck when switching between front and back cameras on some PCs.
Known Issues
For Copilot+ PCs:
If you join the Canary Channel from Dev/Release Preview/retail, you will lose Windows Hello PIN/biometric sign-in (error 0xd0000225, “Something went wrong, and your PIN isn’t available”). You can recreate your PIN via “Set up my PIN.”
Bugcheck:
A small number of Insiders may experience repeated bugchecks with KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE after upgrading, possibly when connecting to VPN (started with the previous build).
Boot Sound:
This build, by accident, plays the Windows Vista boot sound instead of the Windows 11 boot sound. A fix is coming in a future build.
Settings:
Possible crashes in Settings > System > Power & Battery.
Apostrophes in some Settings text may display incorrectly as random characters.
Remote Desktop:
Extreme graphical distortion and rendering issues when using Remote Desktop on Arm64 PCs.
Notes for Canary Channel Insiders
Canary builds are early developmental platform changes, not tied to a specific Windows release.
Features may be rolled out to only a subset of Insiders at first and may never ship in a public release.
Some features may be available in Dev/Beta channels before Canary.
Builds may not always be fully localized and may contain localization issues.
To exit the Canary Channel, a clean Windows 11 install is required.
