Changes and Improvements
General
- Includes a small set of general improvements and fixes to improve the overall experience for Insiders running this build.
Settings
- The search box in Settings will now be located at the top center for a more consistent and better search experience.
Fixes
General
- Fixed an issue where the Windows Vista boot sound was unexpectedly being used instead of the Windows 11 boot sound.
Desktop background
- Made underlying fixes for cases where the desktop background could unexpectedly become black instead of showing your wallpaper.
Settings
- Fixed an issue that could cause Settings to crash under Settings > System > Power & Battery.
- Fixed an underlying issue where some apostrophes in Settings (and settings-related dialogs) would not display correctly and instead showed random characters.
Audio
- Fixed an issue where audio could stop working a few seconds after casting to a TV.
Other
- Fixed an issue causing some Insiders to experience repeated bugchecks (KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE) after upgrading, particularly when connecting to VPN.
- Fixed an issue that could cause acrylic in some apps to be unexpectedly transparent.
- Fixed another issue causing Group Policy Editor to not display properly in certain languages (like Chinese), showing large blank areas.
Known Issues
General
- [For Copilot+ PCs]: Joining the Canary Channel from certain channels or retail may cause loss of Windows Hello pin and biometrics for log-in (error 0xd0000225). You can recreate your PIN with "Set up my PIN".
- [New]: The progress wheel may display as a rectangle glyph instead of rendering correctly when upgrading to this build.
Other Notes
- Microsoft is not planning to release SDKs for the 27xxx series builds for the time being.
- Canary Channel builds represent the earliest platform changes and may not be tied to a specific Windows release; features can be changed, removed, or never released.
- Some features in Canary may appear in Dev and Beta channels before Canary.
