Key Changes and Improvements for Build 22623.746

    System Tray Updates

  • Preliminary Support: This build includes early support for rearranging System Tray icons. These changes began rolling out with Build 22623.730, and more improvements are on the way.
  • Rolling Out: Note that these System Tray updates are still being rolled out and are not available to all Insiders. If your PC doesn’t have these updates yet, your System Tray experience will remain the same.

    Fixes in Build 22623.746

    Tablet-Optimized Taskbar

  • Improved Touch Gestures: The issue where the gesture to slide the Start menu open from the bottom of the screen might stop following your finger has been fixed. However, these fixes only apply if the tablet-optimized taskbar is enabled on your device.

    System Tray Updates

  • Taskbar Auto-Hide Issue: An issue where right-clicking app icons in the System Tray
would unexpectedly dismiss the taskbar if "automatically hide the taskbar" is enabled has been addressed.

Fixes for Both Build 22621.746 & Build 22623.746

  • ms-appinstaller URI: Enabled to work for the DesktopAppInstaller.
  • Windows Search Service: Fixed an issue where indexing progress was slow.

    Known Issues

    General

  • Audio Issues: Some Insiders have reported that audio stopped working in recent Beta Channel builds. Microsoft is investigating.

    Tablet-Optimized Taskbar

  • Various Bugs: The taskbar sometimes flashes when transitioning between desktop and tablet posture, takes longer than expected to transition, and can get stuck in an expanded state when using the bottom right edge gesture to
    see Quick Settings.

    System Tray Updates

  • Explorer.exe Crashes: Dragging system tray icons may cause explorer.exe to crash for some Insiders.

    About the Beta Channel

The Beta Channel is where Microsoft previews features that are closer to what will be shipped to the general public. This means features in the Beta Channel are more stable compared to the Dev Channel. However, not every feature tested in the Beta Channel will make it to the final rollouts.
