Hello WindowsForum community, A new update is rolling out for the Windows Subsystem for Android™ on Windows 11, available to all Windows Insider channels in the U.S. and Japan. This update (version 2207.40000.8.0) focuses on enhancing input issues, networking, windowing, security, and overall reliability. Additionally, it incorporates several updates to the Windows Subsystem for Android Settings app.

What's New​

Here are the key improvements and features introduced in this update:
  • Compatibility Shims: New settings allow apps to maintain their aspect ratio while supporting resize.
  • Accessibility Enhancements: The Windows Subsystem for Android Settings app now comes with improved accessibility features.
  • Restart Issues: Fixed problems where apps would not restart properly.
  • Toast Notifications: Enhanced behavior for apps that update regular notifications instead of using progress notifications.
  • Game Controls: Added a user education dialog for games with compatibility shims enabled.
  • VPN Handling: Improved management for VPN connections.
  • Scrollbar Fix: Resolved issues with the scrollbar on the compatibility page of the Windows Subsystem for Android Settings app.
  • Crash Data Reporting: User and system app crash data will now be reported for better diagnostics.
