I have a problem with hibernate/sleep in windows 7.

when i set pc to hibernate or sleep, the power turn off, but it does not resume. I press any key on keyboard, power does not come back on, then i push power button, power on and display not windows unexpected shutdown screen, choose safe mode or start windows normally, no blue screen or crash dump. I tried all kinds of settings. still same.

how to fix this ?

I had the same problem as you.
The hibernate only started to work after I set "ACPI 2.0" to enabled inside the BIOS.
Check if you have this option too in your BIOS.
The problem existed with me for the past few months when SP1 was not installed. I just installed SP1 last night when it finally came up on the normal daily Windows Update. Have to see if the suspended state dark screen problem continues.

I do keep Skype open all the time. I'll see if closing it solves the problem. Windows 7 SP1 didn't do so.
