So My Computer is a Gateway SX2800, and I have a problem mainly with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit where video and audio start to lag when the cpu load goes to 100% and stays at that much for 5 minutes, and i thought the CPU might be a bad one, but the only way i am able to get rid of the lag is by restarting the computer which is embarrassing being a self-taught computer expert. Does anyone know what causes Windows 7 to lag?

Malware infestation, low amounts of RAM, low free disk space, corrupt device driver, failing device. The big clue is 100% CPU load. Look in Task Manager to see what is using it up - after a thorough scan for malware.
