Is that true? It is found from Windows 7 Forums.

We reported yesterday that Microsoft was already working on release candidate builds of the windows 7 operating system. Our assumption at that time was that the Windows 7 Release Candidate would be released in the following 1-2 months. German online magazine winfuture revealed information that Microsoft started the Escrow phase on February 16. Development is stopped during that phase to ensure that the build does not contain bugs or problems that would prevent its distribution.
The planned released data for the first release candidate of Windows 7 is February 27 according to their information. MSDN and Technet users will be the first to download the Windows 7 release candidate. The download will most likely be available at the same time at Microsoft’s Connect Portal. Users who participate in the Technology Adapters Program will most likely receive the release candidat earlier.

This was posted either yesterday or the day before on arstechnica, and also on winfuture.de. Normally Winfuture is pretty accurate about these things, but I'm not holding my breath for it. If it is released to testers on the 27th, then we will probably see a leak by the 2nd or 3rd of March.

While Microsoft is hopeful that they will not find bugs in that release, the fact of the matter is, they have always found bugs in the first possible RC, and as such the March 14th "final deadline" date will probably stand.
