I just restored my system to W 7 Beta after struggling for much too long with the new RC Build 7100.

I was trying the 64 bit version and I could not get it to work out for me at all!
IE Explorer would not launch at all; just a brief flash on the screen. And I was not able to copy my files and settings from the backup to the new version.
Maybe it's just me; I've been having a truly miserable day today. I need a break, for sure!

It sounds like you've had a frustrating experience with the Windows 7 RC Build 7100, especially with the 64-bit version. If you're planning to stick with Windows 7 Beta for now, here are a few things you can consider to make the process smoother:

Troubleshooting Internet Explorer and File Transfer Issues:

  1. Internet Explorer Issue: If IE Explorer is not launching properly in Windows 7 Beta, you might want to try resetting it or running it in compatibility mode.
  2. File and Settings Transfer: For transferring files and settings, you can use the built-in Windows Easy Transfer tool. It helps transfer files, email, settings, and user accounts from one computer to another.

    Break Time and Future Considerations:

  3. Take a Break: It's essential to take a break when dealing with technical issues to refresh your mind.
  4. Future Approaches: Whenever you feel ready to try Windows 7 RC Build 7100 again, you can start fresh or seek help online for specific issues you faced. If you need any assistance with setting up Windows 7 Beta or have any other questions, feel free to ask!
