Hi All,
I am trying to install Windows 8.1 onto a new hard drive that is attached to a computer that already runs Windows 8.1 x32. I downloaded Windows 8.1 installation from Microsoft and made a bootable USB.
When I type in the Product Key, I get the error code "The Product Key entered does not match any of the Windows images available for installation. Enter a different key."
Using ShowKeyPlus preview, to check the version that my key is for. It said "Win 8.1 RTM ProfessionalWMC Retail".
Three things:
I am trying to install x64 (computer can handle it) instead of x32.
This key is from an upgrade xp to 8.1. But I did not get the typical error message saying that it is an upgrade that most users get.
The installation does not start, it wants me to place the key in first.
Any help or advice you can provide is greatly appreciated.
