A few days ago a 64-bit Windows Server 8 build was leaked onto the internet and a number of you have been firing questions at me regarding this build.

Windows 8 Build 7959 Server Edition Leaked

Well would you look at that, yet another Windows 8 leak has hit the web, barely a week after we had Build 7955 we’ve now got Windows 8 build 7959 Server Edition X64 bit. This is the first 64-bit version of Windows 8 that’s been leaked to the web.

Yet again it has come from BetaArchive and here’s the details of it:

Microsoft Windows 8 (”Windows 8” 6.2.7959.0) (Enterprise) (m3)
6.2.7959.0.fbl_srv_wdacxml.110307-1930_amd64fre_server-enterprise_en-us.iso
ISO Size: 2.87GB (3,229,550,592 bytes)
ISO MD5: 99375D7782027CBF2E70F5D0F8648406

At the moment the build is currently only available on the BetaArchive FTP but I’d imagine that it will hit public torrents soon enough as all the previous releases have.

So far the reports are that it’s a fairly buggy build, but it’s the only 64 bit edition at the moment. Apparently it doesn’t work with VMware either.

There’s also been rumors going around that Windows 8 build 7971 could be released fairly soon too, so we’ll keep our eyes open for that.
