Windows Live Mail. When open and read a message and then use the delete cross on the top line shows previous message instead of next message. Also Next/Previous keys on top line seem to work backwards

Solution
In Windows Live Mail, the behavior you're experiencing with the delete button and the Next/Previous keys can be frustrating. This issue typically arises from how the program handles the order of messages or the selection of messages. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this problem:

1. Email Sorting Order

  • Check the sorting order of your emails. If the sorting is set to display emails in reverse chronological order (oldest first), it can cause the next and previous buttons to work in the opposite direction.
  • Change the sorting order to display emails in chronological order (newest first). This might align the Next/Previous buttons with the expected behavior.

    2. Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Instead of using the Next/Previous buttons on the top line, try using the keyboard shortcuts. You can use the following shortcuts:
    • Next Email: Ctrl + . or Ctrl + >
    • Previous Email: Ctrl + , or Ctrl + ICODE] [HEADING=2]3. Check for Updates[/HEADING]

Ensure that Windows Live Mail is up to date. Before you reinstall the software, ensure that you back up any important emails or data to prevent any loss during the process. By following these steps, you should be able to correct the behavior of the Next/Previous buttons and the delete function in Windows Live Mail.
