Confirm that any necessary software that came with the remote control is installed and configured correctly for WMC. 3. WMC Setup: - Check the Windows Media Center settings to ensure that the remote control is properly configured within WMC. Navigate to the settings section related to remote controls or input devices to configure it. 4. IR Receiver Configuration: - If the IR receiver part of the DVB-S card is not recognized by WMC, you may need to configure it manually. - Go to WMC settings and set up a new remote control device. - Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the remote control with WMC. - Test different remote control setups if WMC provides multiple options. 5. Run Windows Update: - Make sure your Windows 7 system is up to date by running Windows Update. Sometimes, Microsoft releases patches or updates that can improve hardware compatibility. 6. Third-Party Remote Control Software: - Consider using third-party remote control software that is compatible with Windows 7 and Media Center if the issue persists. These software solutions can sometimes provide better compatibility and customization options. By following these steps and ensuring that both the hardware and software components are set up correctly, you should be able to resolve the issue with the remote control not working properly in Windows Media Center.
