I am running the R.C. version 7100 of WIndows 7.
My computer is the Quad-Core Q6600, Intel Frstbug motherboard. 2 Gb dDram2, 320Gb HD + 500Gb HD.

When I was running the Beta version of W7, everything worked okay. Yet when I installed the build 7100, the Windows Mobile Center doesn't work. I get a message every time I run it "Windows Mobile Center has stopped working".

What Can I do to make it work?

I have triple-boot (WinXp, Vista & Win7). In XP & Vista my mobile devices work okay (using active-sync).
This has been dropped in Win 7.

    ]Update Drivers:
    • Ensure that all your device drivers are up-to-date, especially the ones for your mobile devices.
    • Check the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers compatible with Windows 7.
    []Install Windows Mobile Device Center:
    • Windows Mobile Device Center is the successor to ActiveSync, designed for Windows Mobile 6.1 and later.
    • Download and install the latest version of Windows Mobile Device Center from the Microsoft website and see if it resolves the issue.

    ]Check Services:
    • Make sure that services related to Windows Mobile Center are running. You can check this by typing "services.msc" in the "Run" dialog.
    • Look for services like "Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity" and ensure they are set to start automatically.
  2. Reinstall Windows Mobile Center:
    • Uninstall Windows Mobile Center completely and then reinstall it to see if a fresh installation resolves the issue.

      Additional Notes:

      • Windows Mobile Center is known to have some compatibility issues with newer versions of Windows. In some cases, using third-party synchronization software may be more effective.
      • The drop of ActiveSync support in Windows 7 in favor of Windows Mobile Device Center might be the root cause of the issue.
Give these steps a try, and hopefully, one of them will help resolve the Windows Mobile Center error on your Windows 7 Build 7100 system. Let me know if you need further assistance!
