Windows 7 windows search in the start bar

hey all,

i having a bit of trouble with the windows search, i just did a fresh install however now i cannot go <start> and type in any command such as mstsc or cmd, all it comes up is a blank search saying "searching"

i have tried to re create the search database but still no luck

i mainly use this machine as a MCE
