I couldn’t figure out why the C drive of a server gets full while neither data nor heavy software are stored or installed in it as per the screenshots below

Solution
You'll want to look at hidden / system files such as page files. These tend to take up a lot of space. 40GB for a system drive is adequate for basic infrastructure servers. Application servers typically will need more space.
