Windows 8 windows update problem in windows 8.1

I reinstall windows 8.1 and the latest update that windows update installed was kb2919355 kb3063843, kb2990967 and those are dated 2014 and 2015.
I haven't receive any newest update.
I don't know why?
My computer is a hp 2000 2d70dx pc notebook
Any help?

If I recall correctly there are two updates you need to install otherwise Windows update won't work. Pretty silly if you ask me (need updates to get updates through WU.
You need to install KB3173424 first followed by KB3172614

I think those updates may have changed Neem's.

Very informative post you guys. Thanks for posting it. I haven't run into update problems on 8.1, but if I do I'll try these solutions.
