I guess this is my rant post for the month, but heck... Check Point Software deserves it.

They're advertising all over their site, how wonderfully compatible ZoneAlarm Pro is with Windows 7. They're even currently offering a 3-PC license for $29, which is a decent price. And ZoneAlarm has always been a great firewall.

So what's wrong with this?

2GHz or faster processing power is REQUIRED for the firewall to run. It's written in the "System Requirements" section, to be fair to Check Point. But who would ever think that their firewall required literally TWICE as fast of a processor as their Operating System?

That's messed up...

It seems like you're frustrated with the system requirements Check Point Software has set for their ZoneAlarm Pro firewall, especially in relation to Windows 7. Let's break down your concerns: 1. Compatibility with Windows 7: Check Point Software is advertising the compatibility of ZoneAlarm Pro with Windows 7, and they are offering a 3-PC license for $29, which sounds like a good deal. 2. System Requirements Issue: The major concern you have is with the system requirements, specifically the processing power needed to run the firewall. You mentioned that a 2GHz or faster processor is required for the firewall to operate. This requirement is twice the processing power of Windows 7 itself. Such high system requirements for a firewall may indeed seem excessive, especially in comparison to the operating system it's supposed to protect. It could potentially be a point of frustration for users, especially those with older or lower-spec systems that may struggle to meet this requirement. If you're looking for alternatives or workarounds due to these high system requirements, feel free to ask for suggestions or assistance.
