Hi!

I have an old motherboard with just PCIe and not PCI Express 2.0 x16, can i buy a new gfx card that says 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 and still being able to use it?

The short answer is yes. PCIe 1.0 and PCIe 2.0 are backwards compatible with the difference being about a frame per second. As long as you fulfill the cards power requirments you should be fine.
