I bought some new thermal 'goo' recently by OCZ. This was primarily for my chip upgrade but this afternoon I stripped the motherboard down and applied the thermal grease where-ever it was needed like northbridge, southbridge and graphics card. In some cases it's dropped temperature by 5c!
I can totally recommend this stuff..

Kemical, did it reduce the fans noises' due to lower temperatures, how does it feel and how long is that thermal stuff supposed to stay effective ?

sorry i only just found this post..

I'm not sure how long it's supposed to last for but I guess until the next time you remove the heatsink (as you should always replace with new).
My system does run cooler but it hasn't changed fan noise much really..
