I have a dual core t2300 with 2GB of memory. I show my windows 7 when it idles using about 1gb of memory. Would you say this is where it should be high or low. Thanks.

Since changing to trend micro my memory usage went way down which I thought was interesting.
Seems like windows 7 will need at least 1gb of memory though?

Solution
Since Windows 7 minimum requirements are (will be) :

  • 1GHz processor (32- or 64-bit)
  • 1GB of main memory
  • 16GB of available disk space
  • Support for DX9 graphics with 128MB of memory (for the Aero interface)
  • A DVD-R/W drive
That's normal that in your case window uses about 1 GB of memory. For me - Windows 7 uses 1.4 gb of memory.

Hello. I've got a quad core 9550 2.83GHz, 4GB memory, a 7600GT GPU, and am using the 64 bit RC1. Memory usage is at 38-40% when idle. Is this high? Thanks for your time.
