Hi.
My PC is really slow with 2.76GHz CPU and 768(256+512) MB of ram, so i want to upgrade my RAM.
In this section(Hardware) i'm beginner, and don't know what exactly to buy...
My motherboard is Asus P5VDC-MX.
Please help me with choosing RAM - max capacity, frequency, PCI -*** type etc.

After I did some more research, I came up with this;

2 x 240-pin DIMM Sockets support max. 2GB DDR2 533/400 non-ECC, unbuffered memory
2 x 184-pin DIMM Sockets support max. 2GB DDR 400/333/266 non-ECC, unbuffered memory
(Note: DDR and DDR2 memory can not be used simultaneously)

So really, with price and speed coming into play, I'd get 2x1 GB sticks of DDR2-533 (PC2-4300) RAM. Just so you know, faster RAM will still work, it just won't work at faster speeds (It downclocks to 533) so if you can't find PC2-4300, you can get 5300, or 6400. I know 4300 is somewhat hard to find in stores.

So your motherboard supports "DDR2" RAM, and the max supported by your motherboard is 2 GB (2048 MB) total.

Hmm. Newegg only lists DDR2.
If it supports both, it may have a seperate upper limit if DDR is used.

Well, i have two DDR modules inserted and two DDR2 slots empty.
mhm, is there any chance that it supports more than 2048MB with DDR?

768MB DDR SDRAM PC3200(200 Mhz) <-- this is what i have right now. so it meens that i can insert DDR/DDR2 up to 2GB(?), PC3200, up to 200MHz?
