Upgraded from Vista to 7 and now I cannot access my Pictures and Music files. Get Access Denied error message![]()
right click the folder and goto properties then security tab and edit permissions by ticking full control, modify, read and execute etc for your username and then apply

They should be accessible by default. Maybe they are the leftovers from Vista?
anyway. The suggestion above might not be descriptive enough. Unzip the attached file and run the Take Ownership file you find inside. It will enable a right click option on any files and folders "Take Ownership"
