📎 AI Summary:
The original poster is frustrated with a persistent Windows pop-up that appears only when playing Battlefield Bad Company 2, which they believe is a false positive and want to disable permanently, possibly through registry edits. A response suggests a workaround by disabling Aero themes during gameplay via compatibility settings, but it does not directly address disabling the pop-up itself. Overall, the thread focuses on troubleshooting and workarounds for a repetitive Windows notification related to gaming, with the suggestion being a temporary visual setting adjustment rather than a permanent fix.

How to i permanently shut off this pop up. It happens while playing Battlefield Bad Company 2. Every play session this popup happens and I dismiss it over and over because frankly, there is NO noticeable performance problem. Windows seems to be giving a false positive. It has persisted through numerous nvidia driver updates and its the only game it happens on. Is there a way to permanently disable this prompt? I don't mind mucking around in the registry if that is what it takes. I am growing tired of getting dropped out of my game every time i try and play it. Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Here's an excerpt:

To force the aero on/off. Try this:
1) Right Clicking the application/game .exe icon.
2) Click the "Compatibility" Tab.
3) And under "Settings", check box "Disable Visual Themes"

And that will disable Aero when you run the application, then re-enable it when you exit the application/game.

Let me know if that helps at all.
