Hi there!

I'm having a problem with my picture files. I have hundreds of them in separate folders: holidays, family etc.

The problem is is when I try to copy them or move to another folder, I keep getting the message:
'Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working.' Windows Explorer then shuts down and immediately re-opens.

So basically the photos are stuck within their folders and I can't do anything with them!

It's all very frustrating! Any ideas please?

Most likely a problem with Windows itself. I'd start by running some integrity checks.

  • Open an elevated command prompt and run the following
  • sfc /scannow
  • chkdsk /f /r (Will require a reboot and could take an hour)
