📎 AI Summary:
The user reports losing the "send to zip" function for an Excel file, which causes the file to become unresponsive when right-clicked. Initially, the issue was specific to one Excel spreadsheet, possibly related to changing the file title. However, the problem has escalated, as other files—including Word and Excel documents—now refuse to open via double-click, remaining grayed out with an hourglass, although right-click options remain functional. The user is seeking help to understand and resolve the widespread file opening and compression issues.

I have lost the "send to zip" function for an Excel spreadsheet. I used the Copyright Office's spreadsheet format but when I right click on it for the "send to zip" function, the file becomes grayed out and "Not responding". No problem with other files -- just this one. I did change the title of the file to include the Case number. Could that be the problem?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Update: The problem seems to be spreading. I just tried opening other files (word, excel) with a double left click and many refused to open. Each grays out with red hourglass showing indefinitely. What's going on? I did try right clicking those same files and all seems to be functioning with the usual with "cut/copy/paste/send to" options. However, the only right click option for opening is as a PDF.
