Windows 7 Can'T Access Old Windows User File!! Help!!

I just installed a fresh copy of windows 7 and i left my other drive intact which has windows 7 installed on it to. The problem is i can get in to any folder on the root of the drive but it doesn't let me get in to my user folder where i kept all of my files. It says it needs permission to get in to it so i hit allow and it looks like it's searching for something but it never gets in. I didn't have any password protection on it and i used to get in to it before the exact same way but now i can't. Some one please help these files are really important.
