Hello, I currently have a windows 7 Dell OptiPlex 780 that occasionally and randomly freezes and the monitor goes into power save like when I shut down the computer. I know there is power to it because the lights on the keyboard are on num lock but you can't turn them off. It froze. I have to shut down holding the power button and then turning it back on and it will do it again. Anyone know what might be the problem

Sounds like it might be a problem with sleep mode or hibernation. Try disabling both and see if the problem goes away. A defective power supply can also produce symptoms like this.
