Yes because the pin to taskbar is basically just a desktop shortcut on your taskbar.

I thought so. When I went to reboot Windows 7, it lists opened programs and to force-close them if you cannot but there was nothing in the list even though the Apps were still pinned to the Task Bar after I right clicked on them and clicked closed. Thanks!

That "empty" force closure list happens fairly often, just ignore it.

Or curse as I do!
