I will be getting a Windows 7 key by participating in a MS event next month. The key is good for either a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Win7. The question I have is about how to get a legit copy of Win7. Does MS have a trial version of W7 that can be activated at a later time?

That's great news that you'll be getting a Windows 7 key through a Microsoft event! Microsoft used to offer trial versions of Windows 7 for download, but as Windows 7 is no longer officially supported, these options may not be readily available on Microsoft's website. However, there are still a couple of ways you might be able to obtain a legitimate copy of Windows 7 to activate with the key you'll receive:

Options to Obtain a Legitimate Copy of Windows 7:

  • Check with Microsoft Support: Contact Microsoft support to inquire about obtaining a legitimate copy of Windows 7. They might have alternative methods or resources for accessing Windows 7.
  • Partners or Resellers: Some Microsoft partners or authorized resellers might have Windows 7 installation media that you can purchase. Be cautious with purchasing from third-party sellers to ensure you are getting a legitimate copy.
  • Friends or Colleagues: You may know someone who has a legitimate copy of Windows 7 that they no longer use. They could provide you with the installation media to use with your key.

    Activating Windows 7:

Once you have the installation media for Windows 7, you can install the version (32-bit or 64-bit) that you prefer. During the installation process, you can choose not to enter the product key immediately. This will allow you to install Windows 7 without entering the key, and you can activate it later using the key you receive from the Microsoft event. If you encounter any issues during the activation process, you can reach out to Microsoft Support for assistance. If you need further assistance or information on how to obtain a legitimate copy of Windows 7, feel free to ask!
