📎 AI Summary:
The original poster is asking whether `hiberfil.sys` is automatically placed on the same partition as `pagefile.sys` in Windows 7 and how to control its location. A respondent suggests that `hiberfil.sys` cannot be moved, but its size can be reduced; they also mention that the page file can be moved to another drive or partition if needed. Overall, the discussion indicates that moving `hiberfil.sys` is not straightforward, while managing the page file and hibernation file size offers some alternatives.

Is hiberfil.sys always automatically on the same partition as pagefile.sys?

If not: How can I tell Win 7 that it should be this way?

Or alternatively: How can I tell Win 7 that hiberfil.sys should be on partition D: ?

I don't believe it can be moved, If the space occupied is a problem the you may consider reducing its size. Alternatively you may wish to consider moving the pagefile which I believe can be set to another drive/partition.
