I installed and used today the recently introduced (with KB 2852386) new Disk Cleanup Utility.

After having performed the cleanup with multiple reboots I rechecked the size of the

C:\Windows\winsxs\

folder. The size shrinks from approx 12.5 GB to 11GB

Wow! :-(

Is there something wrong? I expected a size of ZERO

Is there another (possibly manual) working method of which really shrink the folder content?

That utility is not meant to " shrink " your folder.
It is used to " delete " out-dated updates from your winsxs.
It won't delete if it does not find updates that your computer no longer need.

What makes you to believe it will show "zero" after running the utility ?
