Out of the blue, the Windows 7 Snipping Tool no longer lets me Save. I am still able to Copy the graphic to the Clipboard (which is usually what I want anyway), but the Save feature is not working. Any ideas would be much appreciated. I scanned with Malwarebytes, Avast and CCleaner just a couple weeks ago...

MS Windows 7 Pro

1 GB Nvidia

Thanks!

I'd try two things:

1. A system restore back to before the problem occurred.

2. A system file check - goto command prompt and enter the command:

sfc /scannow

When you say it's not working do you mean it's "greyed out" or it doesn't actually save the image?

No, the Command is visible in the File Menu. But clicking on it (either the entry in the File Menu, or the floppy Save icon) does nothing. If I just try to close the Snipping Tool window, it asks me if I want to Save. I click "yes" and the window closes without comment (no Save dialog, nothing).

Thanks!

I did not try doing the Restore; I'm reluctant to do so at this time, but I will consider it in the days ahead, especially if other problems creep up.

However, I did do the ScanNow and there were no issues found. Thanks for your suggestions, Pat.
