I upgraded to windows 8.1 from windows 8 and worked well for awhile but now I cannot log on to my user account . I can only log on using guest account .Would welcome any solutions please

Thank you for your reply my problem is that I cannot log into my Windows 8.1 account I can only log on with a guest account and new account that I set up but the problem is that I have no access to any of my saved files pictures etc. .I tried to use the solution on the link you sent but it seems this only works with Windows 7 as I cannot access the tools menu ?
