Want to:
reformat old drive
do clean install
use Windows Easy Transfer using portable hd
PROBLEM: "paranoid" to do it wrong-- read to darn much on line
NEED: step by step of the first few steps just to get me started. ALSO are there check boxes to save previous (Program, User)settings using Windows Easy Transfer.

just boot with the vista disk, it'll do the rest.
easy transfer is easy to.
if you can read, you can do it
