Hi everyone, I am 74 years old, not very good with PC but have to upgrade to Win11. I am a bit scared of it reading that people lost all they have but i also don't understand half of what happened and solutions for that. Should I just go from Windows update page and download and install? Will my Firefox, bookmarks etc be transferred also? Thanks for any simple answer, have a great day!
📎 AI Summary:
The thread centers on a worried user planning a Windows 10 → Windows 11 upgrade and asking whether using the Windows Update upgrade will keep their existing apps and specifically transfer Firefox and bookmarks. Replies emphasized that an in-place upgrade via Windows Update should retain programs and browser data, but recommended quick backups—most notably enabling Firefox Sync and optionally exporting bookmarks to a USB—before upgrading; later guidance confirmed the user was satisfied and done with the steps. Overall sentiment was reassuring and supportive, encouraging the user to take the process slowly and back up first to avoid rare data-loss issues.
