Reinstalling I did with a Windows 7 installation disc. Administration tools is selectable under Porgrams and Features, Windows Features.

I'm using Ultimate.

Thanks, but I've disabled the search service, so it won't index. This doesn't seem to matter for most folders though. I don't want Windows constantly indexing things, I rather wait a little longer when searching. So I noticed, when I go to documents under the C:\Users\Username folder, it works...

Hi there! I noticed my search in right top of the explorer, doesn't start searching the libraries, or the folder in it. But when selecting the downloads folder from my "favorites", it does search the downloads folder... Any idea? Thanks!

Then, the MMC opens, but when adding snap-in, under add/remove snap-in, the Group Policy and Print Management snap-ins have folder icons, when adding I get the same error, MMC cannot initialize the snap-in...

Thanks for your reply! No, for the printer management console, I just go to Administrative tools, under control panel. For the Group Policy editor, I type gpedit.msc in the search bar. In both cases, the mmc console pops up with the error.
