Hmm.. perhaps it isn't a resources issue if you shut everything you could think of off and it was still doing it. When you reinstall yahoo do you redownload the file or use the one you downloaded first? A lot of freeze up issues with win7 can be attributed to reg errors and if you just delete...
I'm not familiar with norton ghost, but it seems that programs that can affect system files and the registry are on the get permission list. There is a link in the message box that will let you turn your security down or off entirely, but again, I'm too paranoid for that. This is meant to...
Sorry didn't see an "edit post" button. Just wanted to add I don't have dual boot. I accomplished this is in my Toshiba with the one os mentioned above.
I agree with this... too bad it didn't happen. Some programs like c cleaner I use a few times a day (paranoid) and it asks me for permission. It's gotten old.
Vista was the biggest waste of 120$. It didn't finally start to become stable until right before I got this win7 laptop. Every 3 - 5 months I had to reload Vista (it taught me to make regular backups). I only keep my old machine around because it's the first real nice case mod I did. Eventually...
My first guess would be you're using too much resources and it's freezing up your computer. Can you fill us in on the info for your computer (type, processor, RAM, OS, etc..) and the hardware you are running. What other programs do you have running (including those in your tool bar, background...
I used a hacked serial on the final release of TuU 2010 after I discovered the 2009 didn't work so well on my win7 os. Plan on buying the 2011 legit when it's released. The software is well worth it. The beta seemed to work great, other than that whole my not being able to read dutch thing.
I found a version of Tuneup Utilities 2011 beta online, which I downloaded. Unfortunately it was in Dutch. I removed it and went back to my 2010 version. Do you know off hand if there's an english version or a language pack for the beta? I love this program.
With my Toshiba laptop I burned a system image/recovery disc when I fired it up. If I have to reload the puter that should bring it back to the original state out of the box. Would it be incorrect to assume I won't need the serial to do this?
I changed to sound in my Win7 64 bit laptop using the resource hacker as described above. I had to take ownership of the specified dll file afterwards (set that to admin). I changed my logon image to a lone wolf howling and now I have the sound to accompany it. Thanks for the info!
