IF you're talking about local Access (not over a network then group membership rights are going to get you everytime. IF the user account is member of a group (Administrators for instance) that has elevated privledges with respect to files and folders on the local machine then that will win out...
You need to specify your source Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:wim:X:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess Where "X" is the location of your installation files (DVD or mounted Windows 10 ISO)
Welcome to a brave new world. I would sympathize, except we have our own idiots on this side of the pond. I think we've got some bad times ahead of us. I've never seen such brazen bigotry and hatred on display before..... like it is now. Buckle up, the ride is likely to get bumpy.
It would probably be a good idea to go to Dell.com -> Support by product..... Plug in your service tag number and download the drivers for your operating system from there. You will of course need a system that can connect to the internet in order to do this.
BUT..... And therein lies the rub. I'm not sure anything that is done by one of those admin users couldn't be un-done by one of the others if it had any impact on any of the others, since they all seem to be sharing a single account, I wouldn't expect that it would, without a third party...
Is there some reason why you want to avoid performing an in-place upgrade of your Windows 7 Home Basic to Windows 10 Home? It's free and does not require a purchase of an upgrade. After the upgrade and the Win 10 installation is activated, if you wish you can perform a clean install and again...
IF you are talking about Version 1511 Build 10586.3 There have been two Cumulative Updates Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3118754) which I believe brought the build number up to 10586.11 AND Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based...
A Domain relies entirely on a DNS server for name resolution. I assume you are running DNS on one of your servers in your Domain, even if it's your Domain Controller. Make sure that all Domain Client machines are point at your local DNS server for name resolution. As a matter of fact it should...
That is my understanding, as well as my personal experience. I recently did a clean install on one of my machines with the ISO and used the Windows 8 key during the process.
OK thanks.... as I understand it the DISM tool included in Windows 7 is far less robust than the DISM tool included in later versions of Windows. All I can say is, that if you are talking about the Setup.exe file date..... In my 10.0.10586.0 ISO the date is 10/30/2015 4:35 AM However I cannot...
It looks like you are trying to perform the task on a Windows 7 machine. I believe that DISM functionality is deprecated to some extent on Windows versions prior to Windows 8 or maybe even Windows 8.1
I don't see anything wrong with the dism log file so I still don't know what error you received My log file is practically identical. Which should have produced this in the command prompt window
Confirmed the same myself. Somehow very strange that there is still a link out there to a version of the media creation tool that still get you an 1511 ISO. For future reference if you want to check you ISO version. Mount it and then right click the start button and choose Command Prompt...
