Native PC does not mean an official release
The video description calls this the original PS4 version running natively on PC. A more precise description is reconstructed native code using original game content—not the untouched PS4 executable running directly on Windows. The project expressly states that it is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by Konami or Kojima Productions.
That distinction matters. Preservation, compatibility and publisher authorization are separate questions; success at the first two does not establish the third.
The developer lists Windows 10 and Windows 11 x64, with a GPU and driver supporting Vulkan 1.3. The US release, CUSA01127, is the tested baseline; European and Japanese copies carry additional verification caveats.
Third-person mode is documented—but experimental
The project README explicitly lists an experimental third-person view, corroborating the feature advertised by the walkthrough. However, the video’s “4K/60fps” label is a presentation claim, not an independently measured performance result. The README lists selectable rendering resolutions but provides no hardware-independent 4K/60fps guarantee.
A walkthrough can demonstrate a different perspective without establishing frame-time consistency, hardware requirements or camera reliability. Enjoy the haunted hallway; do not mistake the upload title for a benchmark.
The installation boundary Windows users need to understand
According to the project’s installer documentation, the download contains the PC runtime, not Konami’s game assets. Users must supply an existing compatible dump folder or a supported homebrew package made from their own copy. The installer does not decrypt an encrypted PlayStation Store package. Downloading the port alone does not provide access to P.T.
The documentation also establishes several practical installation constraints:
- A fresh installation requires at least 3 GB of free space.
- The destination must not contain unrelated files.
- Settings, saves, logs and generated caches reside in a
data/folder beside the executable. - Updating an existing installation is designed to preserve that data and user-added files.
If a European or Japanese copy installs with warnings, acceptance by the installer should not be confused with confirmed compatibility. The developer documents those regional archives as uninspected and identifies install-notes.txt and the game log as useful diagnostic evidence.
The takeaway is straightforward: this walkthrough highlights a genuine PC compatibility project and a documented experimental camera feature. Its strongest value for Windows users is the new execution path—not a promise that every PC can deliver the advertised footage, or that the missing game files come with the installer.
