If you’ve ever found yourself impatiently waiting for the Taskbar to appear or disappear while using Windows 11, you’re not alone. The auto-hide feature can sometimes feel sluggish, making you wish for a little extra pep in its step. Thankfully, you don’t have to settle for a lagging Taskbar...

Im having problems with:
1-Search; the status bar gets to 99% pretty fast, then it's literally hours before the search finishes. Why?

I need to have my taskbar at the top of my screen but is it possible to make it so I can not drag a window behind it? Several times I have had to autohide the task bar just to get at the window to drag it back again.
Kind Regards, Paul
Because I keep getting the Taskbar refusing to autohide I wanted to have a shortcut to Windows Explorer on the desktop so that I could just restart it with one click, instead of going into Task Manager.
Is this possible?
Thanks.
My Quick Launch area is set to Autohide. The problem I have is, after I have booted and used the computer for a while, I can no longer get the cursor to the top of the Quick Launch area. If I go beyond a certain height with the cursor, The Quick Launch area hides.' That means that I can no...
I want to start a thread on bugs which members are finding in Windows 10. This is not affiliated with the Insider program, but of interest to us nerds who ar following the progress of the builds. Write whatever yo have found.
To get us started:
The Start menu could be more versatile.

A new test environment, a nice litle Acer One with a small screen and an extra 2nd screen, not on the right, not on the left side but over / on top.
The screen is small, so I enabled auto hiding the taskbar and suprise the taskbar of the upper screen slides down into the top of the lower...
This is a bit tricky to explain, but here I go.

I have my taksbar on "auto-hide". That means, that it's hidden unless I get my mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen or I press the "Windows" key. I want it NOT to show when I get my cursor to the button of the screen.
To be...
At random times, usually daily, something goes into my Contol Panel in "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" and checks the box,"Auto-hide the taskbar". I notice this when suddenly my taskbar disappears while I am doing other work. I go into the Control Panel and uncheck it, but hours or maybe...

I have setup my TaskBar with auto-hide.
So it hides after 3 seconds. Fine.
But lot of programs sent notifications on certain events to their icon in Systray.
This makes the TaskBar automatically always re-appear and forces users to click on the corresponding icon which is very annoying.
How...
Here, just tossing this out, for no more reason than just for shits n giggles.
I revamped, tidied, the Taskbar, just mucking about; normally, it Auto-hides. And, this is w/out (any) Gadgets or Sticky Notes showing. Picture is arbitrary. I may leave it like this, try it out, for a while...
Normally, the Start Orb in the lower left corner of the Taskbar should autohide with the rest of the Taskbar. However, quite often, it does not recede with the Taskbar during autohide. How can I repair this? Thanks........
New to the forums and hope someone can help me out.
I would like to know if it is possible to create a shortcut for the Start Button. I would like to use RocketDock and auto hide the taskbar and be able to access the start button via RocketDock. Thanks in Advance :D
Fixes an issue in which the desktop does not respond to mouse or keyboard input for some time after you resume the display in Windows 7. This issue occurs when you enable the "Auto-hide the task" option together with turning off the display for some time.

I just received my new computer with win7 and so far so good. One thing that is troubling is that the task bar will not auto-hide, even though it is selected. If I deselect it, apply, then select it and apply, it will drop down and come right back up.
With programs like media player and...

Fairly often while using this OS on my new laptop, I notice that the Start button
has become invisible. The taskbar is fine otherwise, and the button still works
if you click the blank space where it used to be--it's just invisible.

My Taskbar doesn't always recede (automatically hide) out of site. It seems to have something to do with what programs are open or what state they're in - but I can't figure out the pattern. Could someone help me by telling me what to do to hide my taskbar when I want it hidden. Thanks...........
